The benefit of purchasing an infrared sauna is it's portability. Most models can be plugged into a 110V outdoor plug as the electricity required is low. Also because these outdoors saunas for home are prefabricated most can be broken down and brought indoors for off season use.

The majority of consumers fit into this second category of outdoor saunas for home. The prefab sauna is more cost effective and if you purchase the correct model can be used indoors as well as outdoors. While some indoor models require a cover for outdoor use it's not an expensive add on when purchasing the unit.

Depending on your budget, our recommendation is for a prefab outdoor unit. They're less expensive up front, and are easier to take down if you move. A prebuilt sauna is possibly to move but not as easily.
